  3. Trajan’s Forumis an ancient structure in Rome, Italy, chronologically the last of the Imperial fora.The forum was constructed by the architect Apollodorus of Damascus.

  4. SITUATION To build Trajan's forum they destroyed a hill due to lack of space camp called champ de Mars.

  5. Apollodorus of Damascus was a Greek engineer from Syria, architect, from Damascus, Roman Syria. designer and sculptor who flourished during the 2nd century AD, from Damascus, Roman Syria.

  7. BASILICA ULPIA It is the largest basilica of imperial Rome. It had access to the southeast. The interior of the basilica was formed by a monumental nave, separated by imposing granite.

  8. BASILICA ULPIA • There were celebrations for the liberation of slaves in the north-west side of the church, two openings into the courtyard, where now stands the Column of Trajan.

  9. COLUMN OF TRAJAN • The column was a gift from the Senate and the Romans did to the emperor during the victories in the wars against Dacia. • It is covered by a spiral commemorating the victories of Trajan.

  10. COLUMN OF TRAJAN • On theinsideprovides access to a lookout platform at the top. • The purposes of the Column of Trajan were two: cover the ashes of the emperor and celebrate the conquest of Dacia as a victory of Trajan.

  13. LIBRARIES • Trajan column was flanked by two libraries in which they also retained the emperor's. • In one of these texts were in Latin while the other Greek texts were preserved. The library located in the southwest.
