Time Management. Time is finite; use it wisely!. Prioritize. Number one tasks are essential. Do them first. Number three tasks can wait until tomorrow if necessary, but watch for a chance to get some of these out of the way today.

  1. Time Management Time is finite; use it wisely!

  2. Prioritize Number one tasks are essential. Do them first. Number three tasks can wait until tomorrow if necessary, but watch for a chance to get some of these out of the way today. Number two tasks need to be done today if at all possible. They should go immediately after number one tasks.

  3. Work Time Decide how much time number one tasks will take. Set that time aside first. Some tasks are better completed during your high energy time of the day. Take that into consideration as you plan.

  4. Relax Set aside brief periods of time for yourself even during the busiest of days. 10 minutes is often enough to get a new burst of energy. Or reward yourself for a job well done by reading a chapter in a favorite book. After an especially busy project, take part of a day or even a whole day to refresh yourself.

  5. Exercise Your brain will not function at its best if your body is lethargic. Don't take time for exercise. Let exercise drive your day. A half hour of regular exercise makes everything seem easier. Choose an exercise that is enjoyable for you, and your stress level will go down.

  6. Flexibility Allow time for UFO's (UnForeseen Obstacles). Every day in a busy person's life includes a few unexpected events that can derail the best of plans. Be ready to meet these things as if they were expected.

  7. Floating Tasks Some things can be done anywhere anytime. Carry what you need to make use of time spent waiting or in down time. Such as: Books to read Flash cards to review Letters to write

  8. Survival Occasionally a set of circumstances so demanding as to take precedence over any and all regular & expected activities enters every life. Sometimes these things are expected and allow for planning to set other activities aside. Other times they come out of the blue and demand a complete rearrangement of all tasks.

  9. Compromise-Learning to compromise can work wonders for your stress level. Re-prioritize: reconsider what must be done today. Postpone: Move lower level tasks to tomorrow or the following day. Delegate: Get someone else to lighten your load. Speed Up: Sacrifice perfection & get the job done. Give Up: Even superman occasionally lets something go.

  10. Do Things Differently Think OUT OF THE BOX Is there another way I can do this? Why am I doing things in this sequence? Why is the room (or my desk) arranged this way? Is there a place where I seem to work more efficiently? Is there a time of day when I seem to work more efficiently? Try omitting a sub-task that may matter only to you.

  11. Are you getting the most mileage out of the tools you have? Are there some time-saving functions of your computer you haven't explored? Could you be using your smart phone to save time? Do you spend a lot of time trying to figure things out when you could simply read directions? Sometimes we need to use a little time to learn ways to save a lot of time!
