  2. All About Hares Hares are small, fast mammals, with long ears , short tails , and powerful hind legs. There are 22 species of hare alive today living throughout the world.

  3. What Kind of Animal Isa Hare? A vertebrate is an animal that has a backbone. An invertebrate is an animal that does not have a backbone. Hares are Vertebrates.

  4. Where a Hare Lives Hares live in a large land habitat such as Farmland and moorland . Besides providing food , these areas allow the hares to see enemies long before they get too close.

  5. What a Hare Likes To Eat The hare is a herbivore . Their main food is grass and cereal crops, such as corn and barley , but the hare’s Diet changes throughout the year depending on the food available.

  6. A Hare’sEarly Stages of Life Young hares are called leverets .They are born with their eyes open and long, silky fur.
