    4. REAP State of Iowa Program Administered through your local Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). 75% Cost Sharing Must be an agricultural producer Practices Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) Tree Planting Fencing Windbreaks

    5. Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) Crop Tree Release- 5 acre minimum Cost share rate is 75% of the total cost not to exceed $75 per acre ($100 total cost). Site Preparation for Natural regeneration (Weed Tree removal)- 3 acre minimum Cost share rate is 75% of the total cost not to exceed $120 per acre ($160 total cost).

    6. Tree Planting Row Planting or Direct Seeding 3 acre minimum Cost share rate is 75% of the total cost not to exceed $365 per acre ($486 total cost).

    7. Fencing Interior fencing only Cost share rate is $8 per rod or $45 per acre protected, whichever is less.

    8. Windbreaks Check with your local county for any changes to these rates. Maximum of $1200 per windbreak total cost. Maximum of $12 per tree.

    9. Maintenance Agreement REAP comes with a 20 year maintenance agreement. Maintain practice for 20 years No grazing No building Stays with the property if it is sold.

    10. How do I apply? 1. Contact your District Forester. 2. Sign up for REAP at your local Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). 3. Once you have been approved, line up a forestry contractor to complete the work. 4. After project has been completed, turn in all your bills to the SWCD.

    25. How do I apply? 1. Contact your local Farm Service Agency office. 2. Open enrollment for Continuous Signup programs. 3. General Signup programs will be announced. 4. Once you have been approved, line up a forestry contractor to complete the work. 5. After project has been completed, turn in all your bills to the FSA.

    26. EQIP Federal Cost Sharing Program Administered through your local Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Flat rate based on state or area averages Must be an agricultural producer Eligible practices determined by local county Application will be ranked and compared on a county basis Practices TSI Tree Planting Fencing Windbreaks

    27. Timber Stand Improvement (TSI) Cost share rate is a flat rate. For area 3 (North East Iowa), $61 per acre Crop Tree Release. For area 3 (North East Iowa), $80 per acre Site Preparation for Natural Regeneration (Weed Tree Removal).

    28. Tree Planting Row Planting or Direct Seeding Cost share rate is a flat rate. For area 3, $285 per acre. Other requirements decided by local county.
