  3. Each group will be made up of approx 4/5 people. In your group you will discuss one of the following quotes: • Why should people go out and pay money to see bad films when they can stay home and see bad television for nothing?  Samuel Goldwyn • Every single art form is involved in a film, in a way.   5. It could be effective to include the following in your talk: • Power Point Presentation (which could incorporate photographs and music) • Scenes from a DVD/YouTube clips NB. Content included in your talk must be appropriate for class viewing!

  6. Many movie scripts are available online – you should Google your favourite film when preparing your talk. • You should ensure that your presentation is not simply a narrative of the movie – link it to your own life and make it personal. • The following structure is only suggested to help you, how you organise your presentation is up to you...

  7. Introduction – Customise your opening section to suit the movie, perhaps echoing the beginning of the film... • Plot – Summarise the film. You can leave the end a surprise if you like! If there are parallels with your own life, you should discuss these too. • Character(s) – Describe the character(s) and explain the characteristics which make you empathise with them. • Key Scenes – Discuss the 2 or 3 scenes you think are most important and explain why. • Theme – Explain what you think is the central idea of the film and what you have you learned from it. • Conclusion – If you could, would you change the way the movie ends?
