  1. What is MID? • Computer peripheral unit • Input device (keys, MCR) • Output device (LCD) • Input/Output device (ICCR)

MID is composed of • One master module • Communicates with PC • And with all rest slave modules • And one or more Slave modules • Controlls its unit • Detects pressed keys and sends this information toward PC • Gets the command from master module what to display on LCD and executes the command • Up to 14 modules could be connected • Internal modules (red connectors + 6 pin flat cabels) • Externa modules (special external cable– up to 1,2 m)

How to assemble MID 2 • Not more than 256 keys all together • Even MCR, iButton, Keylock have virtual keys and these keys are also includein in this 256 array • Keyboard information • In MIDWIN/MIDDOS with the command Keyboard->Info • Shows the composition (which moduls) and • Chip versions (very useful when troubleshooting)

MID is programmable 1 • Advantages • One key substitutes sequence or combination of keys • Mouse is not needed • Higher entering speed • No need for teaching of operators • What is programmable by special modules (MCR, iButton, …) • Header in Terminator • Kbd-pc: header – content of the card - terminator • Sistem can distinguish between other keys and card • Working mode

MID is programmable 2 • The settings are stored in Master module • Slave module sends just the information which key has been pressed • The content stays when it is programmed • It can be reprogrammed • Can be programmed at one place (e.g. Tipro) and used at another place or computer • Memory size is 8KB, what represents aprox. 3000 characters (depends on content, configuration, …)

Description of modules 1 • Master module • Different versions • AT/PS2 outputand AT/PS2 input for standard keyboard (also called secondary kbd.) • AT/PS2 & RS232 outputs and AT/PS2 input for standard keyboard • AT/PS2 & RS232 outputs, AT/PS2 input for standard keyboard and RS232 input for external barcode scanner • Additional connector for external modules (special cabel; up to 1,2 m)
