Additional light source type headlamp

This document presents proposed amendments to ECE-R53 and R113, aimed at enhancing the nighttime cornering visibility for motorcycle riders. The system integrates an additional light source that adjusts automatically based on the motorcycle's bank angle, improving illumination where needed. It contrasts the cut-off lines and illuminated areas of both conventional and enhanced headlamp systems, highlighting the effectiveness of the Horizontal Inclination Adjustment System (HIAS). The proposed changes intend to increase safety and visibility for riders during nighttime operations.

Purpose This system is intended to improve the night-time cornering visibility for motorcycle riders. • Functions This system automatically provides an illuminated area produced by an additional light source in accordance with the bank angle of the motorcycle to the illumination area produced by principal headlamp.
