Business news • Fast-food wages come with a $7 billion side of public assistance • Minimum wage was proposed to be raised from $7.25 to $15 an hour • Increases price of items if no other costs are reduced- Big Mac would increase $1 • Total Cost to American taxpayers of a large, low-wage workforce- $7 Billion • 68% of fast-food workers are single/married adults who aren’t in school—and 26% are raising children • 52 percent of families of fast-food workers are enrolled in one or more public assistance programs
