NSBE History NSBE was founded at Purdue University in 1975 by six people known as “The Chicago Six” • John Logan (deceased) • Edward Coleman • George Smith • Stanley Kirtley(deceased) • Brian Harris • Anthony Harris. Advisor: Dr. Arthur Bond
NSBE History • First national meeting April 10-12, 1975 - attend by 48 students representing 32 schools. Accomplishments included: • From SBE to NSBE • First National Chair Elected • NSBE Logo Created • Organization Split into 6 Regions • Mission Statement Written • First Constitution Drafted
A&T NSBE History • Established March 1986 • Chapter 1213 • Considered a large chapter within the society
NSBE Purpose • Produce more Black Engineers • Produce leaders • Produce well-rounded individuals
