  2. A noun is a person, place, or thing. These are examples of nouns: person cat pencil school Marie ocean game tree street park car mother Can you name some other nouns?

  3. Circle all of the nouns in each sentence. Dad took Marc and Philip to the aquarium. Elena practices the guitar for an hour every day. Last summer, David spent a week at a horseback riding camp.

  4. Proper nouns are nouns that name a specific person, place, or thing. These are examples of proper nouns: Mount Rainier National Park Ford Motor Company Alexander the Great Great Britain Caucasus Mountains The International Red Cross The first letter of a proper noun is capitalized.
