Join Sarah Thomason for the SAILS QEP Workshop aimed at integrating effective learning strategies into core academic tasks. On August 28, 2010, this workshop will focus on improving student outcomes by demonstrating how to apply strategies such as "Read to Understand," "Listen Actively," and "Organize for Effectiveness." The initiative will begin in Fall 2010, targeting both gateway and non-gateway courses. Faculty will receive training to effectively teach these strategies, providing feedback through assessments and institutional research data submission.

What’s involved in integrating learning strategies into the curriculum, cont. • Receive training in how and why to use the strategy. Workshop Opportunities SAILS Summer Academy One-on–one Conferences
Integrating, cont. • Directly teach the strategy to your students through modeling. • Embed the strategy in tasks or assignments of your choice. Provide feedback. • Use the appropriate rubric to assess the first and final tasks or assignments. • Submit data to Institutional Research.
