  3. Physiological Effects of Usher Syndrome • Loss of hearing • Progressive loss of sight • Vestibular dysfunction • This disease effects the 15 chromosome and the 21 chromosome • Gene MYO7A is affected which would effect protein myosin viia

  4. Dylan’s Symptoms • Cannot hear some of our directions • Having trouble moving throughout the house • Has trouble sleeping • He has trouble balancing

  5. Dylan’s Future • He is expected to live a normal life with the exemptions of hearing and seeing. • His intelligence will not be affected with this disease

  6. Treatments Available for Usher Syndrome • Hearing aids are the only sufficient treatment available for usher syndrome
