  1. From: Ahmad Tehrani To: ROOTS Sent: Monday, March 27, 2006 12:31 PM Subject: [roots] Scanning x-rays This is how to used to scan my X-rays...but since going I don't have to do any of it. But for those who don't have Optinme or digital radiography this is a simple way to digitize your rads. BTW, You don't have to use a wide angle lens, but since I had it I used it. The wide angle lens was placed directly on the x-rays and eliminated camera shakes. Place x-rays on the view box, turn the room's lights off (You can also use your darkroom) and take a picture of the x-ray on illuminated viewbox. Use the Macro feature ( Tulip icon ), turn flash off and set the camera to B&W colors. This will get rid of bluish tint and adjusts the grey scales. Focus on the x-ray and use zoom to eliminate the vignetting ( the dark circle around the image seen through the camera's LCD screen or view finder) . Shoot picture, take the card out , use any of the imaging programs ( ACDSee, Irfan View, Photoshop etc ) to manipulate the image if needed....then transfer images to a folder, your image organizer etc. I use TDO program for instance, other programs can do the same thing. ahmad
