Outcomes of harmonization with ECE Regulations of Safety(1/7) • Since APEC 23rd meeting(2004), keep reporting progress on Harmonization • By the schedule,undergoing official WTO Notice for comments and then announcing the regulations (40 ECE Regulations in 2004, 5 ECE Regulations in 2007) • Leftovers are still being discussed • Safety Regulation evolved into “Developed” era • “First Crash Test in Chinese Taipei” was conducted at ARTC on 2005/01 • Closer to International tempo • Twice per year, keeping track of ECE revisions • Coping with demands from industry and safety, newly-set ECE Regulations being planned (e.g. ECE R123, Adaptive front-lighting system(AFS) )
