JP 154 Phase 1 Joint Counter Improvised Explosive Device Capability • Aim. Seeks to refresh the technology of all ADF Force Protection Electronic Counter Measures (FP ECM) capabilities primarily on an annual basis until 2012 to allow our Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED) capability to remain contemporary against extant and emerging threats. • Schedule. 1st Pass 2008, Year of Decision (YOD) from 2009. • Issues: • Schedule. JP 2110 Phase 1ADF CBRN Defence • Aim. Seeks to deliver high payoff elements of a Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) capability to the ADF to immediately increase operational capability in a contaminated environment: • Phase 1A - MOTS/COTS in-service chemical and radiological point source detectors. • Phase 1B - Systems such as Individual Protective Ensembles, Personnel, Vehicle and Sensitive Equipment Decontamination, Warning and Reporting System and Biological Detection. • Schedule: • Phase 1A. Land 121Field Vehicles and Trailers • Aim. Seeks to provide field vehicles, modules and trailers to meet the mobility requirements of the ADF: • Phase 3. To consist of around 2300 Medium/Heavy vehicles (~ 50% protected), around 1100 unprotected Light/Lightweight vehicles and at least 250 Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle. • Phase 4. To consist of around 1300 ‘Protected Mobility Vehicle – Light’ for command, liaison, recon and utility roles. • Phase 5. To consist of around 2200 unprotected vehicles from Light to Heavy for tactical training. • Schedule: • Phase 3. Government 2nd Pass announcement Aug 07. • Phase 4. To be announced. • Phase 5. JP 2048 Phase 3LHD Watercraft • Aim. JP 2048 Phase 3 seeks to provide up to 12 ship-to-shore connectors for use in the two new CANBERRA Class (HMA Ships CANBERRA and ADELAIDE) amphibious assault ships (LHD). • Schedule. 1st Pass 2009, YOD 2010. • Issues: • Schedule. JP2077 – 2DImproved Logistic Information System • Aim. Phase 2D seeks to address (up to) the eight highest priority residual Military Logistic Information System capability shortfalls through a program of work that will upgrade, replace, rationalise, and/or introduce new capability. • Schedule. RFP occurred Dec 07-Aug 08 and is now complete. Options development underway leading to Interim Pass mid-09. Restricted RFT (subject to approval) planned for 2009/10. ISD 2012-2015. • Budget. JP 2085 PHASES 2/3EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE • Aim. JP 2085 Ph 2/3 seeks to remediate the ADF’s EO stocks in order to ensure that joint forces have appropriate operational viability over a range of concurrent contingencies in accordance with Government expectations of Defence. • Schedule. 1st Pass early FY09/10. • Issues: • Supply/Facilities. Consideration maybe given to establish alternative supply mechanisms for some stock procurements.
