Telecommunications Sub-Cluster The Telecommunications sub-cluster focuses on the manufacturing of communications equipment, and providing services to the design and management of data facilities and networks. 2. Software Design & Development Sub-Cluster The Software Design & Development sub-cluster focuses on software creation, programming customization, and system integration of hardware and software applications. 3. Computer System Design & Support Sub-Cluster The Computer System Design sub-cluster focuses on the manufacturing of computer equipment, and providing services to the design and support of computer systems. 4. Digital Media Sub-Cluster The Digital Media sub-cluster focuses on the manufacturing of digital media equipment, and the services provided by artists, graphic designers, and technicians for interactive entertainment and simulation applications.

Microelectronic & Precision Device Manufacturing The Microelectronic & Precision Device Manufacturing sub-cluster focuses on the development and manufacturing of technologically advanced components that are inserted or mounted into a wide variety of information technology systems and devices. 6. Photonics/Optics Sub-Cluster The Photonics sub-cluster includes a wide array of technologies associated by their applications in light manipulation to perform tasks. The application of optics-related technologies play an enabling role in a number of industries, including telecommunications, computing technologies, health care, biotechnology and defense. 7. Modeling, Simulation, & Training Sub-Cluster (MS&T) The MS&T sub-cluster has a unique technological base that influences other technology-intensive industries, especially hedonics, digital media, biotechnology, and defense.
