  2. Laika the Russian dog November • Laika was a Russian dog, she was the first animal to orbit Earth. Laika travelled in Sputnik 2. In Russian Laika means Barker, Laika helped scientists understand if humans could live in space. 1957

  3. Yuri Gagarin • Yuri Gagarin was a Russian Cosmonaut. Yuri was the first man in space , his journey into space was in Vostok 1 He completed one orbit of Earth and landed two hours after launch. 12 April 1961

  4. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. First Men on the moon! • Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took “One small step” They are the first men on the moon. The first words were “The eagle has landed” 20th July 1969

  5. One for all!-except the Space Shuttle! • All the spacecrafts were designed to be used only once but the Space Shuttle was to be used a 100 times! 12th April 1981

  6. 20 million dollars! • Dennis Tito is an American millionaire and payed 20 million dollars to go into Space. He was the first tourist space passenger and had 900 hours training just to be a passenger! 28th April 2001

  7. Virgin Spacecraft! • Virgin has made a privately funded flight which can fly you into space briefly. Tickets are available in 2012 but they will cost 200 million dollars! June 21st 2004
