This study investigates the performance of CERES and Modular phase inputs with a focus on their corresponding tile sizes and profiles. Data comparisons are drawn from NOAA-9 ERBE CERES-like products and the 2000-2010 Terra CERES-only level-3 products. Key findings indicate variances in shortwave (SW) flux, longwave (LW) flux, daytime cloud amounts, temperatures, and optical depths between the two datasets, providing insights into cloud properties and radiative effects in climate models.

Seiji and I have just compared 4 1986 months of NOAA-9 ERBE CERESlikeproduct with the 2000-2010 Terra CERES-only level-3 product. The conclusions are SW flux is 105 vs 97 LW flux is 232 vs 240 daytime cldamount is 69% vs 63% daytime cld temperature is 257°K vs 261°K daytime cld optical depth is 8.5 vs 4.4 (TISA expecting a log optical depth)
