  2. Calculator Use - Basic • When you take out the Casio fx-260 calculator, it will automatically react to the light and you will normally see a “0” in the display panel along with the letters DEG. This means the calculator is in its default function for basic computations. If it does not display DEG and a “0,” you should press the key. This will return your calculator to the computation mode.

  5. Calculator Use - Fractions • You can find the answers to fraction problems by using the a b/c key on the Casio fx-260 calculator. It is the first key in the second row of keys.

  6. Calculator Use - Fractions • Enter the fraction 5/6 by: • Entering the number 5 • Pressing the fractions - a b/c – button • Entering the number 6 You should now see 5_| 6 on the display. This is how the Casio fx shows fractions.

  7. Calculator Use - Fractions • To enter the mixed number : • Enter the whole number – 2 • Press the fractions key • Enter the numerator – 5 • Press the fractions key • Enter the denominator – 8 Your display should now show 2_|5_|8. This is how the Casio fx shows a mixed number.

  8. Calculator Use - Fractions • Convert improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa • Enter the improper fraction 16/3 and press the fractions key. • Leave the mixed number on the screen. • Press the shift key followed by the fractions key.
