  2. Keep watching the PowerPoint! There is more work to complete.

  3. Problem 4.3 • Solve these problems in your graphing notebook. • Show all work!

  4. Part A. • A jet takes 10 miles to descend 4,000 feet. • How many miles does it take for the jet to descend 5280 feet? • Set up TWO proportions that can be solved to answer this question. • Solve ONE of the proportions. • Check your work to see if you answer makes sense.

  5. Part B • Jack works at a restaurant and eats 1 enchilada for lunch everyday he works. • He ate 240 enchiladas last year. • 3 enchiladas have a total of 705 calories. • How many calories did he eat last year from eating enchiladas? • Set up a proportion and solve the proportion • How many calories did he eat for lunch each day?

  6. Part C • In Weston Middle School there are 58 - 6th graders 76 - 7th graders 38 - 8th graders • The school council is made up of 35 students who are chosen to represent all 3 grades. 1. Write fractions, for each grade, to represent the part of school population that is in each grade. 2. Use the fractions to write and solve proportions that will help you determine the number of students to represent each grade on the council. 3. How would the number of students in each grade change if the number of school council members increased to 37?

  7. Part D • Refer to your book for part D. • Page 54
