Remember the Rainbow. Noah. Genesis 6-9. Gen. 9:13-15 NKJV. 13 . " I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth . 14 " It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud ;. Gen. 9:13-15 NKJV.

  3. Gen. 9:13-15 NKJV 13. "I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 "It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;

  4. Gen. 9:13-15 NKJV 15. "and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

  5. What Does The Rainbow Say ?

  6. I. God has the Power to Destroy the World Genesis 1 & 2 - Created world Amos 4:13“For behold, He who forms mountains, And creates the wind,...” Isa. 40:25-26 “...who hath created these things...” Genesis 6-9 – Destroyed world

  7. I. God has the Power to Destroy the World What Does The Rainbow Say ?

  8. II. God Keeps His Word Gen. 6:7 “I will destroy man” Gen. 6:13 “The end of all flesh is come before me” Gen. 6:17 “to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life” Gen. 9:11 “neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth”

  9. God destroyed the world by a flood He promised never to do it again

  10. God has promised to save those who come to Him in faith and obedience Mark 16:16 John 14:1-4 Rev. 22:14

  11. God will Keep His promises 2 Pet. 3:9 NKJV “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness,” “The Lord is not slow in keeping his word, as he seems to some,” BBE

  12. II. God Keeps His Word What Does The Rainbow Say ?

  13. III. God Is Alive “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.” Ps.19:1 Ps. 90:1-2 “from everlasting to everlasting” Acts 14:8-18 “The living God”

  15. IV. God is in Control of This World • God declared that the world would be destroyed by water. • And it Happened ! • God declared that it would not happen again. • And it hasn’t !

  16. God is in absolute control ! Ps. 90:10 Acts 17:25-26 God gives to all life, and breath and all things !

  17. What Does The Rainbow Say ?

  18. V. God Punishes Sin God will punish the wicked Rom. 11:22 “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God” David understood that the end of the wicked was destruction Psalms 73

  19. We reap what we sow ! Gal.6:7-8 II Cor. 5:10 God will punish the sinner ! Gen. 6:5-7 - wickedness of man Flood destroyed all of these Noah found grace – Gen.6:9

  20. V. God Punishes Sin

  22. VI. God Delivers the Righteous Noah and his family were saved 1 Pet. 3:20 “...eight souls were saved by water.” God will take care of His righteous people !

  23. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matt. 6:33 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Ps. 37:25

  24. Christ Promised a mansion for his people - John 14:1-4 “to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,” 1 Pet. 1:4

  25. VI. God Delivers the Righteous What Does The Rainbow Say ?

  26. VII. God Will Destroy The Earth • Not with a flood !! • 2 Thes. 1:6-10 “in flaming fire” • 2 Pet. 3:10-12 • “melt with fervent heat” • “burned up” • “dissolved”

  27. Prepared ? Hear Believe Repent Confess Baptized
