  4. Grading Breakdown • Grades will be based on the following weighted averages: • Tests/Projects: 50% • Quizzes: 30% • Homework: 20%

  5. Homework Assignments • Homework is graded for either completeness or accuracy, depending on the assignment. If the homework grade is based on completeness, all homework problems must be attempted for full credit. • Homework is worth 3 points per day, on the days homework is given. Over the course of a marking period, homework is approximately worth 100 points. • Students can make up missing homework and gain full credit only when they attend either a lunch or afterschool homework make-up session AND complete the missing work. • If you are absent, you have as many days as you were absent to complete your missed assignments and turn them in. The same rule applies to missed tests, quizzes, and projects.

  6. Absent Students • The student is responsible for any missing work • Absent students must get missed notes from other classmate • For all missed homework assignments, refer to the class website. • It is the student’s responsibility to let me know if he/she needs a worksheet/test/quiz • Any student has the amount of days he/she was absent to make up any missed work for full credit. • If you are planning on being absent, notify me ASAP to get assignments beforehand.

  7. Retaking a Quiz or Test • Students can retake any quiz/test (except Algebra students cannot retake midterm or final) • Students are only eligible to retake an assessment if original grade is 75 or below. • All homework assignments must be turned in before able to retake • Student must complete corrections for original test or sit with me after school to work on corrections/review test • Use “After Math” worksheet for corrections • Retakes can only be taken during lunch or after school • Retake grade is final, goes into PowerSchool • Students have 1 week from when tests were returned to make corrections and 1 extra week to take retake • Please put any requests for retakes into the parking lot after “okayed” by me.

  8. Extra Help • If you have questions or problems with your homework/classwork, please see me to arrange for extra help. • Do not hesitate to ask questions or let me know when you are struggling. • I am here to help; it is my goal to help each of you be successful this year!
