  3. Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979) • First directorial debut of Miyazaki • Basic plot: Gentleman thief ArsèneLupin III and friend Daisuke Jigen rob a casino. Only to discover that the money is counterfeit. Lupin recognises this from before and goes once again to seek out the source. • Genre: Adventure, comedy The beloved Fiat 500F,  owned by YasuoOhtsuka, the head animator of the Lupin series

My NeighborTotoro (1988) •  The film follows the two young daughters of a professor and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in post-war rural Japan •  Miyazaki's production paralleled his colleague Isao Takahata's production of Grave of the Fireflies (1988) • Art style became iconic to Studio Ghibli That’s pretty much the film, but without Catbus and the soot sprites

  5. Princess Mononoke (1997) • ‘Period drama with numerous fantastical elements. The story concentrates on involvement of the outsider Ashitaka in the struggle between the guardians of a forest and the humans of the Iron Town who consume its resources’ • Used some CGI mixed with traditional hand drawn animtion Yakul is cool, so here’s another picture
