  1. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  2. Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”

  3. Revelation 1:4-6 “4John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

  4. Revelation 7:14 “And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

  5. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

  6. Washing Away Our Sins In Christ’s Blood Have we availed ourselves of the only thing that can cleanse the stain of our sins?

  7. The Power of Christ’s Blood • It brings us near to God – Eph. 2:13 • It makes us part of the elect – 1 Pet. 1:1-2 • It redeems us – Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:12-14; 1 Pet. 1:17-21 • It reconciles or makes peace – Col. 1:20-23 • It was shed for the remission of sins – Matt. 26:28 • It justifies us – Rom. 5:6-11 • It cleanses us from all sin – 1 John 1:7

Christ is God’s PerfectSacrifice For Our Sins • He was our Father’s sacrifice offered for us – John 1:29 • Through flesh and blood, He partook of death to overcome the devil – Heb. 2:13-16 • He did what the blood of bulls and goats could never do – Heb. 9:11-10:22 • Unless we partake of His body and His blood, we have no life in us – John 6:48-71

Sprinkled With Blood In Baptism • In order to have our sins washed away, we must be baptized in water! – Mark 16:15-16; Acts 22:16; 2:38; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Eph. 5:26; Heb. 10:22 • The significance of blood and water – 1 John 5:5-8 (cf. John 19:34; 3:1-8) • We must bear His reproach by being baptized into His death – Heb. 13:10-13; Rom. 6:1-11

  10. Hebrews 10:19-22 “19Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

  11. 1 John 1:6-7 “6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
