SU3 Herwig Validation Job Status and Bug Fix Report

The SU3 Herwig validation job has been running smoothly in the RTT for the past few weeks, thanks to Alex Richards' implementation. The job utilizes the jobTransform.csc_genAtlfast_tr.py script along with the job option CSC.005403.SU3_jimmy_susy.py, producing NTUP and AOD format files. These are analyzed using the su3_NTUP_validation.C macro to generate histogram files. While plots are automatically created for comparison with reference data, a bug was recently identified in the validation macro, causing erroneous results. The issue has been fixed, and new plots are expected soon.

RTT Status • SU3.Herwig.Validation job is running in the RTT, as of a few weeks ago Thanks to Alex Richards for implementation into RTT HERWIG SUSY status report Steps of RTT Job: • jobTransform csc_genAtlfast_tr.py used, with jobOption CSC.005403.SU3_jimmy_susy.py • produces files of NTUP (and AOD) format. • NTUP run over by macro: su3_NTUP_validation.C to produce histogram files • Comparison plots (against 12.0.6 reference) made automatically with DCube

EG.  • Some investigation found this to be due to a bug in the RTT implementation of su3_NTUP_validation.C, causing it to run over more events than contained in monitored file • bug found last Thursday – now fixed!
