Reusing RICH Prototype for Cosmic Rays Setup: A Didactic Approach

This project explores the repurposing of the RICH prototype for a cosmic rays detection system, showcasing its applications during test beams in TCC8 from 2007 to 2009. The setup incorporates aerogel bricks as a radiator and adapts the spherical mirror for a proximity focusing Cherenkov detector. With minimal modifications required, most components, including electronics, are readily available, providing a hands-on learning experience for students. The initiative aims to reconstruct cosmic rays-induced Cherenkov rings while effectively recycling existing equipment for educational purposes.
