  2. National Employability Enhancement Mission ( NEEM)

NEEM The objective of the National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM) is to offer on-the job practical training to enhance employability of a person pursuing his/her Post graduation / graduation / diploma in any technical or non-technical stream and has discontinued studies after Class 10th to increase their employability. TISS is now registered with the AICTE as a NEEM FACILITATOR. Student will undergo on-the-job training (five days a week) with a Skill Knowledge Provider (SKP) as a “trainee”.

  4. NEEM No employer – employee relationship as per the NEEM notification. A trainee under NEEM shall be regulated as per the norms of the company / industry where the trainees are placed for training. A trainee under NEEM shall be compensated as per the Workman Compensation Act, 1923

  5. Eligibility of a Trainee under NEEM A person registered under NEEM Regulation is called a Trainee under NEEM Should either be pursuing his or her Post Graduation / graduation / Diploma in any technical and non – technical stream or may have discontinued studies after Class 10th Should be minimum of 16years of age but not more than 40 years of age on the date of registration.

  6. Norms • A “contract” shall be executed between the NEEM trainee and the NEEM Facilitator. • NEEM Contract shall not be either an offer of employment or a guarantee of employment. • Remuneration/stipend paid to the trainee shall be a consolidated amount and no deductions shall be applicable to the same. It shall be in par with the prescribed minimum wage for unskilled category • Training shall take place in any industry/factory as registered with the NEEM Facilitator for a minimum period of 3 months but shall not exceed 36 months.

  7. Norms • The training must be NSQF compliant. • NEEM trainees shall be governed by the policy of the Company/industry where they shall be placed for training. • In case of personal injury caused to a NEEM trainee the provisions of Workman Compensation Act,1923 shall apply.

  8. NEEM Trainings • Option 1 : Diploma / Advance Diploma / B. Voc Degree • Option 2 : Any Skill enhancement course of min 180 hours above in one year. Assessment & certification at end of the year. Certification fee Rs. 600. Training fee could be Rs.950 per month. • Option 3 : Employability Skills - 180 hours per year. (Any general / education syllabus from each of our six B.Voc semesters can be taken up for training). Certification at the end of the year. Certification fee Rs600. Training fee could be Rs.950 per month

  9. Stipend Payment • A tripartite NEEM agreement to be signed between TISS, SKP and Hub partner. • SKP shall remit consolidated stipend (including training fee) to Hub. • Hub shall remit the stipend to student & training fee(on behalf) of student to TISS (within 3 days of receiving payment from SKP) • Hub to get a authorisation letter signed from each student (authorising hub to deduct training fee from stipend and pay to TISS)
