  2. Prerequisites – CAP Pilot Be an active CAP member at least 17 years of age. Possess a valid FAA private, commercial, or airline transport pilot certificate. Possess a class III or higher medical certificate. Possess a current flight review IAW FAR 61.56. Satisfactorily complete a CAP Form 5 flight evaluation in a CAP aircraft within the preceding 12 months. Complete an annual CAP Form 5 written exams and annual aircraft questionnaires for each aircraft authorized to fly.

  3. Prerequisites – TMP Qualifications to become a Transport Mission Pilot (TMP) – During authorized Emergency Services missions, CAP Transport Mission Pilots may transport CAP members, ferry aircraft, fly “high bird” communication sorties, and transport parts or equipment needed for missions.  • At least 18 years of age. • Current and qualified CAP pilot in accordance with CAPR 60-1, with at least 100 hours pilot in command time including at least 50 hours of cross-country flying. • Qualified General Emergency Services.

Prerequisites – MP Qualifications to become a Mission Pilot (MP) – Once becoming a CAP Pilot and attaining 175 hours PIC time with 50 hours of cross-country time one can start training to become a Mission Pilot Qualified Transport Mission Pilot At least 200 hours pilot in command time and 50 hours of cross-country flying Qualified Mission Scanner Complete all requirements listed in the most current version of the Aircrew and Flight Line Task Guide for MP.

  6. Study Material for Tests and Aircraft Questionnaire There is one online test and one optional online test and an Aircraft Questionnaire for each aircraft to be flown to be completed.   7. Tests Take and pass the current online CAP Form 5 Annual Examination–Powered. This is a 21-question, open book test. You must complete it not more than 90 days before your flight check. Print the completion certificate and bring it with you to the flight evaluation. If you are or wish to become a Cadet Orientation Pilot, also take and pass the current online Orientation Pilot Exam - Powered, either with or without ROTC. This is also an open-book test. Print the completion certificate and bring it with you to the flight evaluation.

  8. Documents Complete an Airplane Questionnaire Attachment CAPR 60-1 in original ink, for the aircraft to be used. Download and print two copies of the CAP Form 5. Fill in all of the top boxes except the Additional CAP Endorsements section. If you anticipate flying a CAP aircraft in IMC then check the Instrument box and be prepared to demonstrate instrument proficiency. If you have 200+ hours PIC time, then check the Cadet Orientation Pilot box so you can fly cadets on Orientation Flights.

  9. Validation • eServices validation before you fly: • Enter all of your FAA Pilot qualifications using eServices • Upload Aircraft Questionnaire(s). • Upload the scanned copies of your FAA Documents • eMail the Operations Officer to let him know that they are awaiting validation.
