  2. The six P’s • These P’s are designed to give RA’s an easy way to remember when to call the RHD on duty. • The P’s are • Police • Parents • Persona • President • Press • Paramedics

  3. Police • The police being in the building indicates that there is a major event going on in the building. • This type of information is crucial to the RHD on duty in order to perform their job. • RHD’s have more authority than an RA.

  4. Parents • When parents come into a Residence Hall they are typically here to “help” their child. • This can lead to them having an aggressive attitude. • Having an RHD gives several benefits • Manager Effect • Trained professional • Has more answers

  5. Persona • Persona is a vital system that utilizes the “reliability” of technology. • If the system does go down in a building problems will begin to start. • As an RA the only thing we can do is to try and fix the individual problems caused by the persona outage. • RHD know how and have the authority to call the proper people

  6. President • This is an important event because they rarely enter the Residents Halls. • If the president is in a hall this means something big is happening and the RHD needs to know.

  7. Press • When dealing with the press and public statements it is important to keep a uniform position on all topics. • 70 RA’s vs. 8 RHD’s • RHD are higher in the command line and know more about what is going on in housing.

  8. Paramedics • Paramedics are an emergency situation. • This alone is reason to call the RHD on duty • When Paramedics are on the scene they are going to need to move quickly and freely throughout the building. • RHD’s can give them the access they need to get their job done quickly and efficiently.

  9. Other situations • Serious conflicts you can not handle. • If there is any serious housing violations and they need to be taken care of. • Situations that are out of your jurisdiction • Unsure of what to do? • Calling the RHD on duty is an easy way to make sure your doing your job the best way possible.
