  1. My State… North Carolina This shows many of the animals and a lot of facts about North Carolina.

  2. State Animals  • Bird- Cardinal • Mammal- Gray Squirrel • Dog- Plott Hound • Fish- Channel Bass State Flower- Dog Wood is the only State Plant.

  3. Things I know about North Carolina  North Carolina borders the Atlantic Ocean. The States first Art Museum was in the city of Raleigh. The Lost Colony was also in North Carolina. The Wright Brothers made first flight. The first Pepsi served and created was in North Carolina.

  4. Why are there 3 Regions ? I think there are regions so people don’t get lost that’s also why people made maps. I also think they made regions to let people know where they want to go.

Population • North Carolina population is mostly for it’s job’s and celebrations. • Some people come here for holiday's like Christmas, and Thanksgiving. • North Carolina has lots of history and stories to tell. • Some people come to see the weird animals. • Europeans came here to find gold, crops, fresh water, and animals for food.

They also range from California to the East Coast. Adult mourning doves live about two years in the wild. Some cases, however, have noted a life span of five, seven, and 10 years.

Upon arrival at the breeding grounds, the birds defend a small breeding territory against other individuals and soon begin nest construction. Three to five blue-green eggs are laid in a crude stick nest, often only a few feet away from another nest. Approximately 3 weeks of incubation is required for hatching. • Young

Adults eat large zooplankton, fish eggs and small fish. • Breeding • Spawning occurs in mid-river at night and can occur as early as November or as late as July. Juvenile shad remain in the river during summer and return downriver in the fall. • Young • Hatch in about 8 to 12 days at water temperature of 11 degrees to 15 degrees.
