  4. Healthy Eating Tips • Avoid junk food (food high in calories, but low in nutrients) because they lead to: obesity tooth decay loss of appetite for eating nourishing food

  5. Healthy snacks

  6. Physical Activity • Minimum of 60 minutes per day • Minimize TV, video games, & computer game time

  7. Sleep Needs • 6 & 7 year olds need 10.5 to 11 hours • 8 to 9 year olds need 10 to 10.5 hours • 10 to 12 year olds need 9.5 to 10 hours

  8. Consequences from lack of sleep • Unable to concentrate which affects learning ability & quality of work • More likely to be overweight • More irritable • More prone to bullying others
