Managing Contamination Risks in Urban Water Supply Systems through Simulation and Analysis
PhD student Amin Rasekh and Associate Professor Kelly Brumbelow focuses on the emergency management of contamination events in urban water supply systems. It aims to develop a comprehensive database for managing contamination threats and perform vulnerability analyses of water distribution networks. By simulating a virtual city named "Mesopolis," the study assesses potential contamination scenarios and their public health impacts, enhancing response planning and optimization strategies to ensure safe drinking water delivery amidst natural and man-made threats.
