  1. Water supply system of Poznan & CentralWastewater Treatment Plant

  2. Renewable Energy Sources

  3. Biogas – biofuel (Aquanet for CarboEurope 8.10.2007) Use of renewable energy from biogas at facilities operated by Aquanet: Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Koziegłowy and Left-Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant in Poznań.

  4. Biogas - biofuel Sludge generated as a result of wastewater treatment processes is transported to six separate digesters and subjected to anaerobic digestion. The anaerobic digestion processyields biogas. The net calorific valueof biogas amounts to 21.6 MJ/m3 In August 2007 - ca. 960.000 kW. Annual - 12.365 MW (electricity) - 16.307 MW (heat) Biogas – biofuel (Aquanet for CarboEurope 8.10.2007)

  5. Environmental andeconomiceffect. Biogas – biofuel (Aquanet for CarboEurope 8.10.2007)

  6. The environmental effect - generation of electricity from biogas considered to be biofuel (utilisation of 100 % biogas generated during the digestion process) - elimination of emissions of CH4 (methane ) and CO2 (protection of theatmosphere and reduction of the „greenhouse effect”) Biogas – biofuel (Aquanet for CarboEurope 8.10.2007)

  7. The economic effect - covering 40% of the demand for electricity (reduced purchase of electricity from the municipal power supplier) - possibility of selling ‘green power’ in the market - obtaining additional reject heat which is used for process purposes and for the heating of the treatment plant buildings and facilities. Biogas – biofuel (Aquanet for CarboEurope 8.10.2007)
