  1. ANTICIPATED FRAMEWORK New Model for Post-Season College Football

  2. TERM 12 Years - Total 2014-15 through 2025-26 2

  3. PLAYOFF WITHIN BOWL SYSTEM • The traditional bowl system will be maintained. • Currently there are 35 bowls. • There will be a four-team playoff format “within” the greater bowl system. • There will be two (2) Semifinal Games with winners advancing to a National Championship Game. 3

  4. BOWL SITES • Six (6) traditional bowl games in top-tier level. • Contract Bowls • Rose (Big Ten Champ vs. Pac-12 Champ) • Sugar (SEC Champ vs. Big 12 Champ) • Orange (ACC Champ vs. Pool) • Host Bowls • TBD • TBD • TBD • Note: the highest-ranked champion from the five conferences that are not in contract bowls will be guaranteed a spot in a host bowl. 4

  5. SEMIFINAL GAMES • The top four teams will be determined by a selection committee instead of a poll. • Annually 2 of the 6 bowls will host Semifinal Games. • It is anticipated that on a rotating basis over the 12-year term, each of these 6 bowls will host 4 Semifinal Games. • For the Orange Bowl, we would have a game involved in determining a national championship once every three years. 5

  6. TRADITIONAL ORANGE BOWL • In the 8 years when the Orange Bowl does not host a Semifinal Game, the traditional game will feature the ACC Champion vs. Big Ten / SEC / Notre Dame. • The selection of the opponent will be based on the guiding principle of securing the highest-ranked team in the final standings available from the Big Ten, SEC or Notre Dame. • The standards include at least three guaranteed appearances over the 12 years for both the Big Ten and the SEC and a maximum of two with no minimum for Notre Dame.. 6

  7. GAME DATES • All 6 bowl games --- including the 2 bowl games hosting the Semifinal Games --- will annually be played on December 31 and January 1. • Orange Bowl will be played on either Dec 31 or on Jan 1 at 1:00pm EST. • Rose Bowl will always be played on Jan 1 at 5:00pm EST. • Sugar Bowl will always be played on Jan 1 at 8:30pm EST. • Host Bowls will be played on either Dec 31 or on Jan 1 at 1:00pm EST. 8

  8. OTHER KEY ITEMS • Approved by BCS Presidential Oversight Committee: • Revenue sharing model which includes academic performance as part of the funding formula. • Moving forward to complete a television rights agreement for the new format. • Commissioned study to rebrand postseason college football (e.g. new name). • Begin hiring staff so the new structure can begin operating. 10
