(Power Point 2.3) Tourist vs. Tourism Tourist : one who travels for a period of 24 hours or more in a country other than that in which he normally resides(Holloway, 1989) Tourism : temporary movement of people to destinations outside their normal places of work and residence, the activities undertaken during their stay in those destinations, and the facilities created to cater to their needs (Mathieson and Wall, 1981)
