Objectives • Maintain active Wiki posting addressing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) dealing with mobile health security • FAQ addressed to product developers in mHealth area • Publish annual FAQ document • Annual report is a refereed document which will include subgroup reviews plus invited experts. • Project will provide links to information sources and will be a value added service to HL7 members • Sponsor “special sessions” dealing with mHealth security topics of interest to a wider audience HL7 Mobile Health Security Subgroup

Current Status • Project Scope Statement (PSS) prepared and submitted to HL7 • Initial FAQ published to Wiki • Expert Sessions are scheduled to address special topics • Meetings are monthly • 2014 focus is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) • First expert session held April 17 • Additional meetings scheduled for May-July sessions HL7 Mobile Health Security Subgroup

Why BYOD • Bring Your Own Device is becoming a central issue in mobile health informatics • Users want to use a single device • Healthcare institutions need access to information • Medical information breaches are becoming more frequent and more costly • Malware is following applications as they migrate from desktops, notebooks and laptops to smart phones and tablets HL7 Mobile Health Security Subgroup

  5. BYOD Expert Speaker Sessions • Monthly meetings to investigate BYOD security issues • Past Sessions Upcoming Sessions • Issues to discuss • User Authentication • Security and Legal issues dealing with PHI • Device Management • BYOD Security Policies HL7 Mobile Health Security Subgroup
