EPHESIANS 3:13-19 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

  3. may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

  4. 1.Christ promised that the Holy Spirit would dwell in the believer: (V. 17B). 2. Christ promised that he would dwell in the believer: (V. 20). 3. Christ promised that the Father would dwell in the believer: (V. 23) Three Promises of Christ (John 14)

The Fullness of God Vs. 19 “…that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” Amplified: “That you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!” The things in verses 14-19 which precede this, elaborate what is involved in experiencing the fullness of God.

  6. 1. Spiritual Power Vs. 16 “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power” “Through His Spirit in the inner man” “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,” - Ephesians 5:18

  7. 2. Christ’s Indwelling Vs. 17 “That Christ may dwell in your hearts” Living Bible: “I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you…” “…through faith”

  8. 3. Spiritual Comprehension Vs. 17-18 “that you… may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height” “that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend…” “with all the saints”

  9. 4. Experiencing Christ’s Love Vs. 19 “To know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge” The same two keys as for spiritual comprehension… “I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love may be able to… know the love of Christ” “with all the saints”

  10. 5. Unlimited Resources Vs. 20 “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think—according to the power that works within us” “– to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

  11. In the Fullness of God... .... there are no impossibilities Matthew 19:26 .... we make every move in Him, our beings will be permeated with his presence. Acts 17:28 .... we have dominion over the death of sin, because we have life in Christ, and it’s a life that conquers death. Romans 6:11 ..... we have the mind of Christ. ....we have access to everything we’re supposed to know and everything we’re supposed to do. I Corinthians 2:16
