  8. “At the full moon.”YOM, יוֹם, “day or appointed time.”KESE, כֶּסֶא, “full moon.” (Used only here and Psa 81:3.)

  9. God created the moon to “rule the night”, Gen 1:16ff, i.e. the light shines even in the darkness.

  10. Gen 1:16, “God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.”

  11. John 1:5,“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

  12. Psa 81:3, “Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.”

  13. “New moon” = the beginning of the 7th month, Tishri, (Sept - Oct), The Feast of Trumpets, Lev 23:23-25. The blowing of the trumpets indicated the beginning of the civil New Year, cf. Num 29:1-6.

  14. “Full moon” - 15 days later was the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles, Lev 23:33-43; cf. Deut 16:13-15; Neh 8:14-18.

  15. Zech 14:16, “Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.”

  16. To Israel, the figurative use of the moon was a sign of impending great events, including the“Great Day of the Lord.”

  17. It will be the 2nd Advent of Christ, to gather Israel and all believers on earth at the end of the Tribulation to enter them into the Millennial reign, Mark 13:24; Isa 13:10; Joel 2:30-32.

  18. The “Feast of Tabernacles” celebrated on the “Full Moon” commemorates past freedom from slavery and future Kingdom reign.

  19. For the Church Psa 81:3, “new moon”, is the “Feast of Trumpets” signifying the Rapture of the Church at the beginning of the Tribulation.1 Cor 15:20, 23, 52; 1Thes 4:16-17

  20. 1 Cor 15:20,“But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.”

  21. 1 Cor 15:23,“But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming.”

  22. 1 Cor 15:52,“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

  23. Satan’s counterfeit, “full moon” may speak of the rise of the antichrist, who appears during the Tribulation.Dan 9:27; Mat 24:15; 2 Thes 2:3-4, 8-10

  24. “He will come” - BOCan be a euphemism for sexual intercourse in Ezek 23:17, and idolatry that came upon Israel and Samaria, as they played the harlot. cf. Hosea 9:10

  25. It also announces the coming of a Messianic King, Zech 9:9-10.Vs. 9, The King comes to you mounted on a donkey.Vs 10, The Millennial Reign, cf. Dan 7:13-14.

  26. Where is the king coming to? “his house or home” - BAYITH, בַּיִת.The Temple of Jerusalem, 2 Sam 7:5f; 1 Kings 6-8.

  27. “He will enter His house,” is prophetic for the 2nd Advent of our Lord to establish His Millennial reign.

  28. The counterfeit entering of the house is seen in the Antichrist.Dan 9:27; 11:41; 2 Thes 2:4

  29. 2 Thes 2:4,“Who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.”

  30. The counterfeit will be complete as the Antichrist comes with a false proposal of peace and enters the house of the Lord establishing himself as God with the result of deceiving many.

  31. Which is the topic of verses 21-23.
