Email • Archive your entire mailbox • Archive all folders • Set archive date to something recent • Copy archive files to a CD for access from home • Set your Out of Office message • Include date you are returning • Indicate whether or not you will be checking e-mail periodically • Specify a contact person for immediate assistance • Set Rules • Set rules to automatically forward messages, delete messages, move messages, etc.

  4. Hardware • Back up your hard drive • Copy important files to your M: drive • Back up hard drive to a CD • Completely shutdown your computer • Protects the computer from power surges • Saves electricity • Turn off your monitor and speakers • Prolongs their life • Saves electricity

  5. Voicemail • Set your extended absence greeting • Include date you are returning • Indicate whether or not you will be checking voicemail periodically • Specify a contact person for immediate assistance • Turn on Send Calls • Prevents the phone from ringing several times before voicemail picks up

Accessing Resources Remotely • Citrix – access to applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, IN Banner • http://citrix.ccsu.edu • VPN – access to resources such as your M: drive, departmental share drive • http://vpn.ccsu.edu • Outlook Web Access – access to e-mail • www.mail.ccsu.edu • Webfiles – access to your M: drive files • From web browser: File/Open, type https://webfiles.ccsu.edu/yourbluenetID and check off “Open as web folder” • Voicemail • Dial 860-832-2222, press #, enter your extension
