Types of Funding • Grant, Scholarship,Fellowship • Awarded based upon criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the fund. • Money does not have to be repaid. • Funders: Government; local authorities; philanthropic and gaming trusts; service and social enterprise organisations.

  4. Who can apply? • Anyone can apply for funding. • Apply to different funds according to criteria that is relevant to you. • Most opportunities are for New Zealanders wanting study in New Zealand. • Does include some opportunities for New Zealanders wanting to travel and/or study overseas.

  5. Examples • Maxine Scholarship:offers financial assistance to talented young Aucklanders between aged 15-20 for a course of study and/or materials in the areas of education, the arts, dance and drama, music, fashion and sport. • AMP Regional Scholarship: rewards those with the courage, passion, determination and commitment to achieve their chosen goal no matter what obstacles lie in their path.
