  2. What is Ancestry Library Edition? • ALE is a research tool offering the most comprehensive, international genealogical information available online, with more than 5 billion names in thousands of collections.

Summary of Contents: • Coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records. • Record collections from Canada, Europe, and Australia. • Thousands of databases containing content from the 13th century to the 21st century and billions of indexed names. • Contains key collections such as U.S. Federal Census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes); Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes); The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630; Social Security Death Index (updated monthly); WWI Draft Registration Cards; Federal Slave Narratives; and a strong Civil War collection.

ALE vs. Ancestry.com • Ancestry.com is designed for the individual -- numerous personalized functionality and options available to private subscribers that are NOT available in the Library Edition. • There are also certain databases or collections that are available in Ancestry.com, but are NOT included in Ancestry Library Edition.
