  3. Before We Read Using Safari, look up the answers to the following questions: Who is Medusa? Why is Medusa so threatening? Who are the three sisters known as the Graeae? Provide 2 interesting facts about them. Who are the Gorgons? What is a Kraken?

  4. As You Read We will be stopping after each section/chapter to discuss question. Before you start, let’s talk about oracles and prophecies.

  5. “An Unexpected Visit” Which god/goddess took an interest in Perseus in this section? What are the 4 things that are given to Perseus? Re-read the last caption on page 8. The next section is going to be background information on Perseus. What is the figurative language term, that we have talked about already this year, that fits with this next section?

  11. After You Read Discussion • Write a quick response to the following questions: • In the myths we have read, especially this one, women do not have as much control over their lives as men do. Provide examples from the myth that prove this to be true. • Oracles and prophecies play a big part in mythology. Describe a time where you felt that you had no control over something that was happening in your life. • Who has proven to be the better hero? Hercules or Perseus? Support your person with at least two reason why.
