Interesting Facts • Lower part of brain that connects to spinal cord is the size of your thumb! It controls such things as breathing and digestion. • Weighs approximately 3 pounds (1.5 Kg) and is about 15 cm in length (that is ½ a regular ruler!!)
Cerebellum: TAKE NOTES • AKA “Little Brain” • Controls balance (have you ever wondered why you can stand up without falling over) • Also known as the “know how” to do something (when you learn a new skill, this part of your brain remembers it)
Cerebrum : TAKE NOTES • Main part of the brain • Divided into lobes (each with its own functions and responsibilities) • Where all other work is done / interpreted (compared to the cerebellum)
