  2. Paris, France: The Airport The best the Paris Airport has to offer Snow in Paris! • “So! Randi and I were the last to check in for the trip and somewhere in between the last successful check in and ours AirFrance decided to cancel our flight from Paris to Berlin… we spent the next 6 hours waiting in the Paris airport playing Kings on the Corner and getting to know each other.” • Entry: Airport Nonsense. • KLM Airport Fun!

  3. The Story of Berlin: Kathy Kollowitz And Atomic Bomb Bunkers Kathy Kollowitz “Today was my first full day in Berlin! … I enjoyed looking at Kathy Kollowitz’s charcoal drawings. I thought her two sketches… called Unemployment really captured the situation along with the pain… Then we went to The Story of Berlin museum… I enjoyed the section about the 20’s and I thought showing the different Berlin… apartments was very insightful… After the museum we went on a guided tour through Berlin’s largest bunker.” Entry: Day 1 KLM The Story of Berlin!

  4. Some Like it Hotter: Picasso and Klee We went to the Picasso Gallery today. It was neat to see Picasso develop into cubism. I really Enjoyed his sketches and doodles. Another artist featured was Paul Klee. I enjoyed his work thoroughly. He was able to capture a raw almost child-like quality without losing the intricacy or the geometric quality. . . . Then we went to the Berlin Philharmonic to see the Ladies Orchestra perform Some Like it Hotter. They were all very talented: all played multiple instruments and a few even tap danced! Entry: Day 2 KLM The Picasso Art Gallery, More like Picasso and friends ^Even Picasso doodles^

  5. Tosca: The Opera and the Flea Market This morning we went to the flee market. It is so cold here! I had fun seeing all of the neat things that were for sale along with the odd… I was able to find a neat gold guitar pin for my sister as well as some crystals for my mom. Tosca was great live. It is so much fun being a part of a German audience because they clap forever! It is fabulous! Tosca was very interesting; I discovered the truth in the statement that is less about understanding the words and more about what emotions the music evokes. Trying to stay warm! BRR! The Flea Market! Entry: Day 3 KLM

  6. Museum Island: Today was fabulous! … I have always been fascinated by ancient Egypt and to actually see sarcophaguses and mummies was amazing. All of the artifacts that were preserved astounds me. I know walking through this museum that choosing History as my major was a right choice. And then I saw the bust of Nefertiti. It was breath taking. Absolutely unbelievable. In pictures the unfinished eyes distracts from the magic the bust has in person. I didn’t even notice the unfinished eyes while I stared even though I knew it was there from documentaries. The bust was the only amazing item in the Neues Museum. There were Egyptian family statues, tools from Nomadic tribes, and statues that almost came to life… Today was a great day. It made me realize how big, diverse, and great this world is. I feel honored to have this experience- to see and be close to all of the history in the museums today was a life changing experience. Entry: Day 4 KLM

  7. Reichstag: Checkpoint Charlie, government today and yesterday Earlier today was really neat; former Israeli Prime Minister was in town meeting the German Parliament today so there were Polizei everywhere. It was neat that he was going to be speaking in the same building we were visiting that morning. The structure of the building was amazing… Before we could get to the Reichstag we had to pass through the Brandenburg Gate. It was odd imagining that a little over 21 years ago no one was allowed to pass through and what I was doing- crossing from West to East and back again, was a privilege. Entry: Day 5 KLM

  8. PotsdamerPlatz: Art Museums and 3D Movies Gemäldegalerie Potsdamer Platz!

  9. Track 17 The feeling there was so overwhelming I just cried. You can taste their anxieties in the air. Entry: Day 6 KLM
