Spring 2008 PC & Facility Goals • PC Support • Create an Online Support Manual • Reconfigure Teen Lab • Add an Internet Content Filter • Label computer equipment • Facility Improvements • Fix the switching closet’s overheating problem • Reroute exposed Ethernet wires around the shelter • Begin sorting through the donated computers

  5. Documentation Problem/Solution • Problem: • Passwords and manuals bundled together in one stack which is hard to find and incomplete • Solution: • Online User Manual website that will compile all necessary passwords, instructional steps, and how-to documents

Filtering Gateway Added Untangle Gateway Filter to the network to prevent users from accessing pornographic and social networking sites Connected between Shelter and the Internet Maintained by adding websites to a safe list, or an unsafe list Notifies the admin via email if unsecured websites were attempted several times Filters Job Counseling and Teen Lab traffic Labeled computers to assist in troubleshooting Reconfigure Server user groups ü ü o o o
