2. Summary • In Beatrice Prior’s chicago world, society is divided into five factions, Abnegation (selfless), Dauntless (brave), Erudite (intelligent), Candor (honest), and Amity (peaceful). Tris lives with her brother Caleb, her mom and her dad. On one day every year, all sixteen year olds must choose one of the five factions in which they will devote to the rest of their lives to. For Beatrice, the decision is to stay with her family or be who she really is. She can not have both. She makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself. Beatrice changes her name to Tris, and during the initiation that follows, Tris struggles along with other initiates to live with the faction they have chosen. They all must go through extreme tests, with some terrible consequences. As initiation transforms all of them, Tris must find out who her real friends are, and who she should trust. Tris has a secret, that she has kept hidden from everyone, because she has been warned it might mean death. She learns her secret might help her save who she loves, or it might destroy her. 3. R • For my R I drew pictures of the five factions, and described them.

4. E • For my E I did summaries on the rest of the series, and I read Insurgent, and I am ready Allegiant. Sorry if there are any spoilers!!!

5. Insurgent Summary • Continued on from divergent, Tris, Four, Caleb, and Peter and Marcus travel to Amity, where the other surviving abnegation have settled in. Erudite and Dauntless traitors soon come in to look for the abnegation. Tris, Four, Caleb, and another woman Susan manage to escape and jump on to a train. The train is full of armed faction less, including a former dauntless initiate, Edward, who escorts them to a faction less safe zone. Caleb and Susan move to the safe zone where other abnegation are living, while Tris and four go to candor headquarters. Read the book Insurgent to find out what happened to Tris and Four.

6. Allegiant Summary • Tris meets a group called Allegiant, who’s goal is to get out of the city. Soon, Four, Tris, and many others are going on an Allegiant train to the outside of the city. They go outside the fence, and soon, the group meets a patrol, of divergent which people thought were dead. Read the book Allegiant to find out what happens to the patrol, and what they do.
