  2. What is Einstein@Home? Einstein@Homeis a project developed to search data from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational wave Observatory LIGO in the US and from the GEO 600 gravitational wave observatory in Germany for signals coming from extremely dense, rapidly rotating stars (pulsar). Such sources are believed to be either quark star or neutron star.

  3. Goal of LIGO and GEO 600 • Manifest gravitation wave is a fluctuating tidal strain g’ ( differential gravitation field between separated points) • Strain amplitude h(t) = δx/x = ∫∫g’dt2 • Typically less than h ~ 10-21
