The EMODnet Chemistry Annual Meeting held on June 17-18, 2014, in Split, Croatia, focused on the presentation and discussion of various marine chemistry parameters, including nutrient levels (NH4, NO2+NO3, SiO4), harmful substances like heavy metals (Cu, Hg, Pb, Zn), and radioactive contaminants (Cs-137). Significant challenges were identified regarding data management, such as missing dates and geographic coordinates. The meeting aimed to enhance integrated data reporting and improve the accessibility of critical environmental data for marine ecosystem health assessment.

Problems EMODnet Chemistry • Presenting integrated chlorophyll a data combined with data of nutrients. • Data of harmful substances are mostly in annual reports (Word files). • Many are lacking the date and coordinates. • Data without a date are not presented. • All data of harmful substances (except 2001) from zoobenthos. Already uploaded files: • How to handle the ASCII files in ODV import which have only min and max depth and station bottom depth variables? • Separate depth variable is missing.
