SCHEME OF PRESENTATION • Organization of QEC of BU • SOP for Conduct QA / Self Assessment Cycle • Agenda Points as received from HEC • Status on Rubric Forms, Executive Summaries, Implementation Plans • Problem faced in rectifying the weakness identified in implementation plans • Corrective actions taken • Number of Programs for 3rd Self Assessment / QA cycle

  4. ORGANIZATION OF QEC AT BU • Rector • Director QA / QEC • Quality Assurance Coordinators • At Constituent Units (06) at Islamabad & Karachi • Program Teams for all Department (14) • At CUs • Assessment Teams (ATs) For Islamabad & Karachi Campus (New for each QA cycle)

SOP FOR COMMENCEMENT FOR QA / SELF ASSESSMENT CYCLE • QEC / QA Directorate initiates letter for commencement of QA Self Assessment Cycle at the start of semester / academic year. • Programme Teams, HODs & QACs are to prepare Self Assessment Reports of Academic programmes being conducted at their respective department. • HODs, PTs and QACs are to conduct online QA Surveys particularly End of Course & Teachers Evaluation Surveys. • Surveys are to be analyzed and their outcomes & corrective actions are to be proposed by HODs & Programme Teams. • Summaries of QA Surveys alongwith outcomes & corrective actions proposed are to be placed in SARs. • Nomination of members of Assessment Teams for Karachi & Islamabad Campuses are approved by the Rector. • QEC / QA Dte plans ATs visit of Karachi & Islamabad. Assessment Teams carry out academic audit / assessment of SARs prepared by PTs, HODs & QACs • ATs present their Executive Summaries, Outcomes & proposed Corrective actions alongwith Implementation Plans with time lines in the ‘EXIT MEETINGS’. • ATs visit report comprising of Executive Summaries, Outcomes, Proposed Corrective Actions and Implementation Plans are prepared & finalized by HODs & QA Coordinators of Constituent Units and be submitted to QEC / QA Dte for further processing. • QA Dte / QEC after scrutiny submit the report to Rector for approval. • QEC / QA Dte is to monitor follow up actions & ensure compliance.

STATUS ON RUBRIC FORMS, EXECUTIVE SUMMARIES, IMPLEMENTATION PLANS • Conducted 02 QA Cycle successfully, 3rd QA / Self Assessment Cycle is under progress • In first two cycles both Numeric & Rubric methods of assessment were used. In the 3rd Cycle, only Rubric method will be used • Executive Summaries of ATs visits were received during 1st & 2nd QA cycles • Implementation Plans were prepared by PTs / HODs, QCs & ATs in Exit Meeting of each cycle

PROBLEMS FACED IN RECTIFYING THE WEAKNESS IDENTIFIED IN IMPLEMENTATION PLANS • No problem is faced in rectifying the weaknesses. 100% compliance observed • Monthly Progress Report on Implementation Status is regularly received from HODs & QACs • Faculty members involved in QA activities demand reduction in teaching load & monitory benefit • BU QEC is to perform following additional tasks assigned by HEC / BU: • Plagiarism / Turnitin Training • Monitoring of faculty Development / Cascading of MT-FPDP • Collection, verification, compilation & submission of Data to HEC for University Ranking Cont…..
