Features of the Policy • The policy is sponsored by the Office of Institutional Equity. • The majority of the group who drafted the policy is made up of web designers. • The standards for the policy are based on Section 508. • The policy contains milestones to help with compliance. • The group who drafted the policy is now working on informing web designers, answering questions, and providing training.

  10. First Milestone • By July 1 -- All legacy web pages must indicate in plain text a method of contact for users with disabilities having trouble accessing content within the site. • April 1 – 25 % of pages should comply with the policies guidelines. An additional 25% must comply each succeeding year.

  11. Current Activities • Expanding the web accessibility web site • Holding a public forum to answer questions about web accessibility and the policy • Creation of a face-to-face class on web accessibility
